Video: "Dynamite" - Alphabet Rockers

I don't really have much to say about this song and video from the Bay Area's Alphabet Rockers except that the song, which tips its cap to "Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes" before moving on past that to get kids moving, NAILS IT.  It's a simple pop song in the best of ways.

Also, libraries rock.

Today is release day for Recess Monkey's Wired album, which has a definite maker theme.  One of the most maker-like songs -- and one of my favorites -- is the Duplo-by-way-of-Ted-Leo-ish rocker "Brick By Brick."  It's not quite the LEGO Movie in scope or execution, but it's a fun 150-or-so seconds of miniature construction.

Video: "The Bossy E" - Mister G

The private eye (private "E"?") who stars in Mister G's latest video has a bit of an attitude.  But since he's "The Bossy E," and he even has an entire album named after him (out June 24), I suppose he's entitled to his... entitlement.  With the appealingly animated video from Leandro Antolini and Andrea Cingolani, the surf-rock tune conveys just one point -- how the addition of "e" at the end of a word can change its sound.  (I'm also amused by how Mister G calls that "e" "bossy" while The Bazillions call it "silent."  Perhaps there's some Sheryl Sandberg subtext there?)

The advent of a new Recess Monkey album also (usually) means new Recess Monkey videos.  Seeing as I've posted a couple dozen RM videos here (seriously, just enter "Recess Monkey video" in the search bar to the right), I usually find them worth my (and therefore your) time.  (And that couple dozen times is, what, maybe half of what they've actually released?)

So, yay!  New music videos from Recess Monkey, leading off with the stunt-worthy "Wired," the title track from their forthcoming album Wired.  No Segways were harmed in the filming of this power-poppy video.

Video: "Sing To Me" - Walter Martin (featuring Karen O)

It's more of a love song than a Father's Day song, but I bet not a few of you dads (or moms, for that matter) will find this Karen O slo-mo video apropos, don'tcha know.  (Sorry, got carried away there.)

It's for "Sing To Me," the lead single from Walter Martin's We're All Young Together, and NPR just premiered the video, which features some dreamy imagery and a car that is very much vintage at this point.

Video: "November First (Jump, Run, Shake)" - Eric Herman

Normally with a video subtitled "Jump, Run, Shake," you might think that it's one of those "active" songs encouraging everyone to be fit.  But one listen to "November First (Jump, Run, Shake)," the first single off Eric Herman's forthcoming Party Animal CD, and you'll realize that maybe the kid just needs to take the edge off a wee bit.  (The animations from Majed Maaroufi capture the sugar rush quite nicely, thanks.)
