Amy Silverman, last mentioned in this space for interviewing me in the Phoenix New Times, occasionally records essays for our local NPR station, and yesterday morning her essay on the advantages of a car over our fancy new light-rail station concluded with R.E.M.'s "Stand." Which reminded me of this video, a song I absolutely adore, from the perfect lyrical rewrite to the Kate Pierson look-alike to the way how Michael Stipe's unique dancing style fits in perfectly with the surrounding muppets.

Oh, and the '90s best pop song bar none after the jump:
Video: "Three Little Birds" - Bob Marley (Noggin)
Folks, you know that I wouldn't link to a non-embeddable video if it weren't really, really cool.
So when I link to Noggin's video page and tell you to watch the video for Bob Marley's "Three Little Birds" (right now, it's the first one in the video player) I hope you realize that it's really, really cool. It is sweet and cute in all the best ways -- that's, like, the cheeriest sun ever.
The song itself is a slightly truncated version of the version on Ziggy Marley's B Is For Bob collection of Bob Marley tracks Ziggy remixed and re-imagined. More details here.
Video: "We R Super Heroes" - Robbert Bobbert and the Bubble Machine
I have two words for this, the video for "We R Super Heroes," from Robert Schneider's debut Robbert Bobbert and the Bubble Machine album.
TOTALLY. AWESOME.
No, scratch that -- it challenged "totally awesome" to a 100-yard dash and crossed the finish line before "totally awesome" got out of the blocks.

Video: "The Land of I Don't Know" - Readeez
I really dig this new Readee from the, er, Readeez people. Or person.
Anyway, it's a mellow tune plucked out of the '70s with a little bit of the Beatles thrown in for good measure and, taken what appears to be out of context, some cryptic lyrics. Still, as a guide for life, you could do worse than "Welcome / Relax / Enjoy the show."

Video: "Superteen" (Live @ Kidzapalooza) - Care Bears on Fire
You know what I like about this video of the teenaged trio Care Bears on Fire from Lollapalooza's Kidzapalooza stage?
The fact that the audience is a group of roughly-five-feet tall tweens and teens rather than a group of roughly-six-feet-tall adults and therefore the videographer has a clear view of the stage as opposed to a lot of the other stuff I've posted here.
Oh, and the song rocks quite a bit, too.

Video: "Nature" (Live @ Kidzapalooza) - Band of Horses
I know, I already posted one Band of Horses live video from the Kidzapalooza stage from this Saturday's Lollapalooza. But this might be my favorite song from the video uploaded thus far. Not only that, but the band says that this song, "Nature," will be on Yo Gabba Gabba!'s upcoming Season 3. Not sure humidity in a Chicago summer is awesome, but this song might be.
