Video: "Monkey Man" - The Wiggles (feat. Kylie Minogue)

You know, if I'm going to spend some time talking about the Wiggles, I may as well go full out. On the positive side, this video for the song, "Monkey Man," from their album Go Bananas!, features Kylie Minogue dancing. On the not-so-positive side, this video also features the rest of the Wiggles dancing. They look like they're having fun, but they also look like me if I were dancing in a business suit next to Kylie Minogue. I don't believe Kylie will be making an appearance at tonight's show, much to my dismay, because I'm not sure the song will survive her absence. The Wiggles (feat. Kylie Minogue) - "Monkey Man"

Video: "Green Light/Red Light" (Live)- The Not-Its!

New stuff from Seattle's The Not-Its!, who in addition to raiding Heart's unrecorded tracks for a "Green Light/Red Light" song also helpfully give props to the usually-neglected yellow light (though I'm sure the "yellow light - go slow" lyrics will confuse many listeners). I hope this'll be on the follow-up up to We Are The Not-Its!, because it's a great little track. The Not Its! - "Green Light/Red Light" (Live)

Concert Recap: Todd Baio (Phoenix, July 2009)

I never got a chance to mention the next show in the Children's Museum of Phoenix series I helped put together, a show featuring Phoenix musician Todd Baio, who's a little bit Pete Seeger and Dan Zanes, and a lot ukulele master. Why? Because by the time I was ready to send out an e-mail a day or so after the show hit the CMOP calendar, the free tickets were already sold out. So you'll just have to make do with a couple videos from the concert. First up, Baio's opening medley, featuring four great renditions of "Down By the Bay," "Skip To My Lou," "Polly Wolly Doodle," and "Ain't Gonna Rain No More." Todd Baio - Kids Song Medley (Live) and one more...

Listen To This: "Let's Go Play" - Laughing Pizza

I can't say that I'm the biggest Laughing Pizza fan -- pizzas can't laugh, for one thing, they're food -- but they've got a new song posted for streaming or downloading that's lots of fun -- "Let's Go Play". It's probably going to be posted for a limited time, so grab it now if you care to...

Listen To This: "Come Over To My Dollhouse" (Live) - Lunch Money

It has been a long, at times frustrating, day. New music from Lunch Money, a song that features the phrase "fortress of solitude," makes it ever so slightly less long and frustrating. (And I - duh! - forgot to mention that the video is Gwyneth's.) Lunch Money - "Come Over To My Dollhouse" (Live at Sirius-XM)

I Didn't Even Try To Wiggle Out of This One

Well, it's not quite a hard-hitting Vanity Fair profile, but I'm interviewed in this week's Phoenix New Times. For those of you wondering what it is I do in "real life," what my wife's name is, and my stance on the Doodlebops, go ahead and read the interview with Amy Silverman. (Did I really put the Innocence Mission on my "Top Six Albums For Kids?" Huh. That's a tough list to make. It changes daily.) The article also explains why I'll be going to see the Wiggles on Monday night with LIttle Boy Blue. On the subject of getting paid, for any local readers who are interested, I'll be appearing on a panel called "Publishing (and Getting Paid) in the Digital Age" in Tempe tonight. I don't think I'm the designated wet blanket, but it's not like there are ads 'round here at the moment...
