Video: "My Brother's A Monster" - Laura Freeman

I've waited quite a bit for the release of Somersault Season, the latest album from Laura Freeman, the indie Laurie Berkner. (I know, I know, Laurie's technically indie, but you get my point.) The album's predecessor, Color Wheel Cartwheel, is just fantabulous but it's been a few years since its release. Well, Somersault Season is finally getting a release in just a couple weeks - July 11. And there's a video for "My Brother's A Monster." It's a little more low-tech than Berkner's videos are these days, but Berkner's got nothing on those hand-drawn monsters. Video: "Hip-Hop Humpty Dumpty" - Cathy Fink & Marcy Marcer with Christylez Bacon

I already mentioned in my review of Banjo to Beatbox, the recently-released EP from Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer that features hip-hop artist Christylez Bacon, that one of my favorite tracks was "Hip-Hop Humpty Dumpty." So why not watch a live version on YouTube? Cathy Fink & Marcy Marxer with Christylez Bacon - "Hip-Hop Humpty Dumpty"

Y'Know, Key Wilde Does Also Draw...

Key Wilde was an illustrator long before he recorded music for kids. So the fact that Key Wilde and Mr. Clarke shows now have some visual accompaniment makes perfect sense. A bunch of video from their Saturday show at the 92Y Tribeca have been posted to YouTube and while the mechanics of the video aren't quite worked out (check out the mouse work on the always-awesome "Rattlin' Can" after the jump), it just makes their shows even better. Their debut album Rise and Shine comes out later this summer on Little Monster Records -- here's a surprisingly nimble "Big Pet Pig" from the album. Key Wilde & Mr. Clarke - "Big Pet Pig"

Video (and mp3): "Best Friends Forever" - AudraRox

This video from Brooklyn's AudraRox has been out there for a year now, but I'm only now just finding it. It's for "Best Friends Forever," a selection from the new Sesame Street: Being Green DVD. It's a sharp-looking video (yay for Sesame Workshop's deep pockets!) and a fun song.... which is now (newly) available for your downloading pleasure here. I love the line "Warm in the middle / cold at the ends..." AudraRox - "Best Friends Forever" There's more, of course.

Video: "I've Got a Laugh" - Debbie and Friends

Last week I posted some art and a rough video from the latest Debbie and Friends video, "I've Got a Laugh." Well, the finished product is out, and it does look pretty slick. I have to tell you, though, I think Debbie Cavalier might want to look for some of her money back. I've met Debbie in person, and she totally has five fingers, not four, on each of her hands. Video: "Watermelon" - Readeez

Michael Rachap and his Readeez project just keeps pluggin' along, posting new Readeez clips almost weekly, it seems. A veritable online jukebox he has now. Yesterday he posted four new clips, may favorite being the one below. What the word-celebrating video loses perhaps a bit in odd rhyming "words" ("kid'll"? "a'ya"? props, though, for the rhymes), it makes up for being very juicy. And a cute tune to boot. Readeez - "Watermelon"
