Video: "Hangin' Around" - Debbie and Friends

I can't say that I thought "Hangin' Around," one of the tracks from Debbie and Friends' Story Songs and Sing Alongs was more than a mildly pleasant tune, but the new video for the song has done what good videos often do -- make you listen with new ears. The song lists a bunch of animal group names (which, incidentally, seem to be a whole bunch of verbs -- "flock," "mob," "span," "clutch," etc.) with some cute computer-animated renditions of said animal groups. I dig the sheep -- I think kids will really dig the whole thing. Debbie and Friends - "Hangin' Around"

Video: "Drawing" - Barenaked Ladies

While I can't say that the '80s synth-pop of "Drawing," off Barenaked Ladies' new kids music CD Snacktime is my favorite track off the album, the new video for the song, featuring bandmember Kevin Hearn's visuals, is certainly distinct. (Go Team "DRAW"!) But I think we need to put a moratorium on animated kids' music videos. Time for the live action, folks! Barenaked Ladies - "Drawing"

... or is that Barenaked de Mayo? Anyway, in honor of tomorrow's release of Barenaked Ladies' first CD for kids, Snacktime, I've got a bunch of BNL/Snacktime stuff to post today. First off, is the video for "7 8 9," the album's leadoff track... This has been out for a while, but you can't go wrong with animated numbers. 'Tis the season of animated numbers, I think.

I'll have more about North Carolina's Secret Agent 23 Skidoo and his first kids' hip-hop CD Easy in the near future, but for the moment, let me just leave you with this, his new video, for "Gotta Be Me."
