KidVid Tournament 2010 Semifinal #2: Recess Monkey vs. Brian Vogan
The other semi-final matchup of KidVid Tournament 2010 is an all-Seattle affair. (We've had a number of those this year.) It features the Leadbelly Regional winner Recess Monkey and their "Marshmallow Farm" video from Field Trip -- the video defeated the Not-Its in an epic Round 2 Seattle-based matchup. That video's going up against the Woody Guthrie Regional winner Brian Vogan and "That's How a Pumpkin Grows" from his Little Songs album -- it defeated a Readeez video in Round 2.
Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments below, but the official results are based on the poll at the bottom of the page. One vote per person, please. One vote per person! Votes due by 7 pm tomorrow (Friday) East Coast time. And, as I continue to say, play nice -- that means encouraging folks to watch both videos and avoiding trash-talking. Really, folks, it's just a silly internet contest.

"That's How a Pumpkin Grows" is a really cute and catchy tune, and the animation in the video is just adorable!! My choice, hands down!

The animation might be nice, but 'Marshmallow Farm' is the much better song of the two. The video is excellent, too. DON'T LET PRETTY PICTURES TAINT YOUR VOTE!

Pumpkin over Marshmallows. I like both music and video better. Catchy tune, and easily understood, especially to small children. Way to go Brian and Alberto!

Thanks to everyone who voted for both videos. It's really cool to see so many fans of Seattle kid rock getting out the vote. I have been a big fan of Recess Monkey for a couple of years now, and I actually had the pleasure of meeting them in person a couple of weeks back. So Daron, I would love to take you up on your offer for some ice cream, but only if you guys let me get the two rounds of super scrumptious toppings that must be added to achieve supreme ice cream deliciousness.

Love the animation for "Pumpkin" but "Marshmallow Farm" is a more enjoyable and memorable song. I'm going to have it stuck in my head all night.
