Contest: Win Trout Fishing in America's New Book/CD
I already told you about the new book/CD set from Trout Fishing in America, My Name is Chicken Joe. (The set is now set to be released April 21.) Well, now you have a chance to win a copy, courtesy of The Secret Mountain. That's right, one lucky Zooglobble reader will get to curl up with the hardcover book while listening to the 11-song CD featuring tracks from Trout's many kids' CDs. (Or one or the other -- I'm not that prescriptive on what you do with it if you win.)
All you need to do is enter a comment below with the craziest (or un-craziest) name for a pet you ever had. One winner will be selected at random; all entries due by midnight east coast time Thursday night. One entry per family, please. And good luck!

We once rounded up all the change our 10 year old selves could muster and bought a "tropical fish" from the live fish monger that would visit our neighborhood weekly. We came home with a large carp in a bucket -- promptly put it in the bathtub and set about to planning how we could talk my mom into keeping it. Needless to say - later that night - we walked the carp back to the apartments by my house and gave it away.

Funny story Marie. Did you ever give that carp a name?
We had a dog growing up that was a Lhasa-Poo mix, named Peaux (pronounced "pooh.")

I am known for giving all my cats names that have some connection to literature. When I was pregnant with my son, a pure white stray cat showed up on our doorstep. Since I had single-handedly picked the name for our unborn son, my husband claimed exclusive naming rights for the cat. The name he chose?
Whitey. (Boy am I glad he didn't name our son!)
