Contest: Win A Putumayo Kids Playground Selection!
I've already given you a list of recess-friendly disks, but what if you're not near a playground? Well, thanks to the folks at Putumayo Kids, you now have a chance for a little monkey bar time of your own -- we're hosting a contest to win a couple disks from Putumayo.
Putumayo's Playground is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, as World Playground was released ten years ago. It's now a dozen albums strong, and there's more on its way -- European Playground will be released in May and Picnic Playground - featuring Johnny Bregar, Asheba and others - will be released in July, accompanied by a summer concert tour.
Putumayo will give copies World Playground and Folk Playground to a lucky reader. Just list your (and/or your kids') favorite playground activities in the comments below. I'll pick one reader at random. One comment per family, please; all entries due by Thursday 11 PM East Coast / 8 PM West Coast time. Thanks and good luck!

My daughter is all about the sandbox lately! I personally prefer the swings! :)

Older daughter likes to sit on the merry-go-round while reading a book, slowly pushing it around with one foot. Younger daughter likes to get as high as she possibly can on the swings (sometimes with a little help from Mom or Dad), and then fly off in mid-air. No tears, only big grins and a quick return to the saddle for more.

My 3 kids probably love the swings the most - how can you beat flying through the air!? I still have to push my little 3-year-old guy, but he loves to go "supersonic!" Any tall, twisty slide comes next on the list. We just love any playground...

My all time favorite are the swings: that back and forth rhythm, the breeze in your face... One never gets tired of it!

My two love the slides and swings. Though my 2 year old is really confused about playground equipment and calls the swings her "see-saw."

We like the wide open spaces to RUN RUN RUN! And recently - slides are more fun (and not as scary) It's fun to see how the equipment 'changes' as the kids skills/fears and interests change too.
