This Sounds Like Nothing Else
Remember when I told you about about the new album from Seattle band Central Services Board of Education?
Well, I've been spinning a pre-release version for the past few days. I can't tell you what my final verdict on the album (I need to figure that out myself) but I can tell you this, the new album sounds like nothing else you'll hear in the kids music genre all year. I can't think of another album that will generate the chatter this one will. "Audacious" is a pretty good adjective here. One they'd probably use.

On your recommendation, we stayed to listen to Central Services Board of Education after the (fantastic, as usual) Recess Monkey set at Folklife. I thought the CSBoE song lyrics were brilliant, but aimed more at the I'm-a-parent-but-still-nerdy-cool adults than the kids. That said, my 4 yr old hasn't stopped listening to the CD. Does she get that the songs are about tinfoil, commas and the inventor of pavement? I don't think so. But given the choice between CSBoE and Justin Roberts, she picks CSBoE every time.

Tin Foil...oh...oh...Tin Foil! I feel bubbly-- and learn something new-- everytime I spin this disc! CSBoE rocks!
