OK, This Is A Top 10 Most Anticipated Album For Me

I've written before about the awesomeness that is Seattle's Central Services Board of Education, the kids' side project of the band Central Services (which, in itself, is pretty darn enjoyable).

Well, after many, many months of wondering when they were going to get into the studio and record more than just the four great songs on their Myspace page, my (OK, unvoiced) wonderings have been answered. According to this post, recording on a full-length album has begun and "will probably be done by spring." Sounds like they're bringing in a bunch of guests including members of the awesome band Awesome on "horns, appliances, and harmonies."

So this automatically moves to my Top 10 list of most anticipated albums for 2008 (how could it not, not with titles like "know your inventors, part V"), but it begs the question... What are you looking forward to?

oh, yay! I love CSBoE! Their songs are so much fun and they are super great guys (they came by and played in SF some time ago). I'm excited about that. And Lunch Money! More will come to mind, but those are first on the top of my head...

GASP!!! AWESOME?!? REALLY????

Seriously, we heard the band "Awesome" (love the name--yes, it's ironic) at our neighborhood street fair and stopped in our tracks. Our jaws dropped. My husband proceeded to check out their website as soon as we got home, and now we're giving their CD out for Christmas. THIS IS SO COOL!!!! Because I've listened to the tracks on CSBoE's MySpace page and their stuff is also terrific (life from the perspective of an elbow; the identity crisis of a tomato (fruit? vegetable?)--brilliant). I may go into diabetic shock from the sweetness of it all. I'm feeling dang lucky to live in Seattle. Thanks for the head's up!

And since you asked, I'm also looking forward to new albums in 2008 from Justin Roberts, Ralph Covert, Elizabeth Mitchell, Johnny Bregar, and Recess Monkey (they've all announced as much).Oh, happy, happy, happy!
