The Deedle Deedle Dees -- On Tour Endlessly
OK, not endlessly, but it's an honest-to-goodness tour. Those of you in Pennsylvania (sorry, that was today), Kentucky, Texas (including something called FAMILY MUSIC MELTDOWN -- c'mon and join us!), Arkansas, and Virginia, come on out and see The Deedle Deedle Dees. Lots of fun.

Back that train up there, pardner. How come no visits out west--WAY out west--to these here parts in Washington and Oregon? Better water and feed them horses and get a wagon going. We'll serve ya up some of the finest flapjacks this side o' the Mississippi. And good coffee to boot.

The show today is at my daughter's school, and she's so excited. No one ever comes to Kentucky on tour, so hopefully this will get a whole new audience engaged in children's music that's actually good!

Yay for the Dees! You MUST see them if they come to your neck of the woods. And Katy, I'm with you! A west coast tour is DEFinitely in order...

You'll need to give us your (and/or your daughter's) report.
I hear you on the lack of touring musicians -- there is something to be said for population density, but even in Phoenix, the inability to do an easy second show in the area hurts us.
But, yes, the West Coast (including Phoenix, and Seattle, and SF) needs more touring music!

Oh, I went too; I wouldn't have missed it for the world. I just about had to take off from work and go, since I had pestered the band and the principal to set it up. I couldn't resist, since they were coming so close to our town.
I can guarantee that my daughter and I were the only ones who knew any of the words. At the beginning, anyway. Almost all of the kids were singing and dancing along. It was an incredible show, and much more engaging than most of the crap that passes for music around here. The kids loved it. My daughter told me tonight that it was a major topic of conversation all day.
It was a part of the celebration for High Attendance Day as a special reward for the kids. They did two shows, just slightly different. One was for grades 3 - 5, and one for K - 2.
Kid mosh pit, basically. The teachers were rocking out too. Super fun.
Now if I can pester Eric Herman into coming this way . . . I'll be my daughter's heroine for life!
