Time for some new music to the Zooglobble Radio Station. A bunch of music has crossed my desk over the past month or two, and I know there's a bunch of albums that I haven't been able to squeeze in here (guess it won't be hard to put together New Music August 2010). Radio Playlist: New Music May 2010

Time once more to add some new music to the Zooglobble Radio Station. This playlist airs in the mid-afternoons (West Coast time) and includes tracks from some of the disks that have crossed my desk over the few weeks (that Macaroons album has been there awhile, but, yeah). There are some tracks from forthcoming albums -- Recess Monkey, Justin Roberts, StarFish, Dream Jam Band, Dirty Sock Funtime Band (who I now think should totally form a supergroup with the Dream Jam Band so they can call themselves the Dirty Dream Sock Jam Funtime Band). Even if you can't listen in the afternoon, the tracks are scattered throughout the day, too. My Brother is a Satellite - Recess Monkey (The Final Funktier) Obsessed by Trucks - Justin Roberts (Jungle Gym) The Kid Is All Id - Randy Kaplan (The Kids Are All Id) Clap Your Hands - Gwendolyn And The Good Time Gang (Clap Your Hands) Cookies And Milk - The Royal Order Of Chords And Keys (Punk Rock, One Sock!!!) 6th Grade Band - Sugar Free Allstars (Funky Fresh And Sugar Free) Arabella Angelique - Grenadilla (Grenadilla) I'm A Monkey - Candy Band (High Five) Boing - The Dream Jam Band (Leave It In The Soup) Follow The Fence - The Hammond Sisters (Blue Sky Lullaby) Flying on Matzoh Brei - The Macaroons (Let's Go Coconuts!) Radio Playlist: When I Was Your Age (May 2010)

More new (old) music for the Zooglobble Radio Station. This playlist airs middays (West Coast time) and lets me go through some of the songs recorded before the invention of the mp3 -- heck, before CDs and cassettes, even. My goal here for this playlist concept (and I'll occasionally update it in the future) is to include songs originally recorded before 1990. (Did you know they recorded kids music then, too? Amazing!) I think that Trout Fishing in America song is probably newer than that, but I'd been looking for an excuse to include them. So there. If you can't catch it midday, the tracks are scattered throughout the day, too. The Beatles - Octopus's Garden (Abbey Road) Burl Ives - The Little White Duck (Burl Ives Sings Little White Duck) Carole King - Chicken Soup with Rice (Really Rosie) The Deighton Family - When You're Smilin' (Bright Spaces 2) Harry McClintock - Big Rock Candy Mountain (O Brother, Where Are Thou? soundtrack) John Lennon - O Yoko! You and Me (Free To Be... You and Me) Paul Simon - You Can Call Me Al (Graceland) Peggy Seeger - Mister Rabbit (Animal Folk Songs for Children) Pete Seeger - Liza Jane (American Folk, Game & Activity Songs) Peter, Paul & Mary - All Through the Night (Peter, Paul and Mommy) Raffi - You'll Sing a Song (The Corner Grocery Store) Sam Hinton - Billy Grimes the Drover (Lou Curtiss Collection) Schoolhouse Rock - Conjunction Junction (Grammar Rock) Suni Paz - Matarile - (Songs for the Playground) Talking Heads - Stay Up Late (Little Creatures) They Might Be Giants - Purple Toupee (Lincoln) Trout Fishing in America - I Can Dance (Dance Party) Vince Guaraldi - Linus and Lucy (Charlie Brown Christmas, plus countless others) Due to internet radio restrictions, the playlist is in shuffle mode on the station -- songs are listed here in alphabetical order by artist (or, er, by their first names...)

Radio Playlist: Kindiegarten - Alphabet

I'm starting to do a better job updating the Zooglobble Radio station -- eventually I'll be updating the station's playlist (or a portion thereof) every week or so. This week's update is the first in a regular series called "Kindiegarten" -- songs about an ostensibly teachable subject, but selected mostly for their tunefulness. The debut playlist features songs about the alphabet, though that definition is stretched a bit to include a few songs that just happen to spell words out and a few songs about books. Yeah, homeschools and preschools should probably use this as music to play during the breaks in their learning. By the way, you can see when particular programs air by perusing the station schedule here. This particular playlist airs in the morning for an hour, but the songs are also scattered throughout the day. Playlist: Kindiegarten - Alphabet Animal Alphabet Song - Alan Mills (Smithsonian Folkways Children's Music Collection) Crazy ABCs - Barenaked Ladies (Snack Time!)
